CIMC speaks at Shenzhen-Bavaria Economic & Trade Conference as the sole business representative of Shenzhen

The Sino-Germany Economic & Trade Conference jointly held by Shenzhen Municipal Government and Bavarian Government opened on September 12, 2016 (local time). Mr. Xu Qin, Mayor of Shenzhen Municipal Government, attended the conference with his delegation and spoke at the opening ceremony. Over 200 people including representatives from over 20 Shenzhen-based enterprises such as CIMC, Huawei, BYD, ZTE, Skyworth and Hytera and from dozens of German enterprises attended the conference. CIMC’s Vice President Dr. Li Yinhui addressed the participants as the sole business representative of Shenzhen, introducing the progresses CIMC’s three Germany subsidiaries have made over the years and highlighting the possibility of deeper and further cooperation between China and Germany. His speech was well received by the participants.  

According to Dr. Li Yinhui, CIMC is one of the enterprises that have benefited most from the economic globalization. Thanks to its internationalization and marketization genes, CIMC’s container, vehicles, offshore and boarding bridge businesses are in the leading places in the world, with 19 products ranking No. 1 in respective market segments. Dr. Li stressed CIMC’s three German subsidiaries namely TGE, Ziemann and Ziegler, have successfully turned losses into profits by taking advantage of CIMC’s global resources after the first acquisition in 2008. He further introduced that CIMC has learned advanced manufacturing experiences from its German subsidiaries and preparing its 2025 Plan under the influence of German Industry 4.0 and China’s 2025 Strategy. CIMC’s Lighthouse Digital Plant Project has incorporated many advanced experiences and technologies from Siemens and other German companies.   

At the conference, Ziegler finalized the high-end firefighting vehicles purchase agreement worth over dozens million yuan. An officer with Ziegler introduced that the company’s high-end firefighting vehicles have been approved by the relevant agencies of Shenzhen Municipal Government, so there would be more business opportunities in the future. Ziegler is a 125-year-old firefighting vehicle manufacturing company, the largest one in Germany. It has won orders for over 100 firefighting vehicles from Chinese enterprises. Since the acquisition, Ziegler has the number of orders from foreign markets increased from 15 percent to over 50 percent.
