CIMC Enric Secures Deal with Sinopec for 12,000 m³ LNG Bunkering Vessel

Publisher:CIMC

Recently, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereafter "CIMC SOE"), a subsidiary of CIMC Enric, has signed an agreement with Sinopec (Beijing) Clean Energy Co., Ltd. (hereafter "Sinopec") for a 12,000 m³ LNG bunkering vessel. Under the agreement, CIMC SOE will be responsible for the vessel's construction, with delivery scheduled for completion in 2028.

As the shipping industry's green and low-carbon transition continues to gain momentum, LNG is finding growing applications as a clean marine fuel, and the development of related bunkering infrastructure is also accelerating. Sinopec is building the vessel as part of its efforts to roll out its green shipping strategy. Once put into operation, the vessel will strengthen China's coastal LNG bunkering network and bridge gaps in green shipping bunkering infrastructure. As a key initiative in Sinopec's clean energy shipping deployment, it will support the green transition of China's shipping industry and help deliver the country's dual carbon development goals.

This partnership not only serves as full recognition of CIMC SOE's capabilities in construction, quality control and delivery, but also represents a strategic initiative for both parties to leverage their industrial and technological synergies and expand the supporting ecosystem for clean energy shipping.

Following the signing of this agreement, the value of order backlog for CIMC Enric's marine clean energy equipment has reached a new all-time high. Since the start of this year, against a backdrop of surging domestic LNG vessel orders and the industry's ongoing ramp-up in LNG bunkering and carrier construction, the company has registered a notable year-on-year growth in the value of relevant newly signed contracts.
