Asia’s largest single-unit marine ranch manufactured by CIMC obtained the first domestic cage classification certificate

Publisher:CIMC

A few days ago, the CCS Qingdao Branch issued the Classification Survey Certificate of China Classification Society to Yantai Jinghai Ocean Fishery Co., Ltd. (“Jinghai Fishery”) for three intelligent deep-sea cages at one time. As the main body implementing the “Hundred-Cage Plan” for the largest single-unit marine ranch in Asia, the Jinghai Fisher launched Jinghai series of cages, which has become the first marine ranch aquaculture cage equipment in China to obtain the classification survey certificate of China Classification Society. CIMC is a vital shareholder of Jinghai Fishery, and the Jinghai series of cages are also independently designed and built by CIMC Raffles, a subsidiary of CIMC.

The “Hundred-Cage Plan” has the potential to produce 600-700 tons of fish per year using single-unit marine cages. “Cages” serve as a comprehensive service platform for the analysis of Internet of Things big data analysis, enabling intelligent environment detection, automatic feeding, automatic collection, transmission, calculation, and analysis of aquaculture data in deep water cages, and allowing the smart and automated cage platform to perform deep-sea fish breeding functions.

It is not the first time the “Hundred-Box Project” has obtained a new identity authentication. On the 17th, with the issuance of the Certificate of Nationality and Certificate of Ownership, China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Yantai Area completed the upgrade from single confirmation to batch certification following “new path for confirmation of marine ranching platforms”, which is a pilot and demonstration case for China.

At present, China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Yantai Area has accumulatively confirmed and certified nearly 30 marine ranching platforms, accounting for more than half of the province, ranking first in China.

Chen Jun, deputy director of the Management Committee of China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Yantai Area, said that the next move of the Yantai Area would focus on five pilot and demonstration areas, namely, “green development of marine ranches, deep-sea aquaculture, informatization and intelligence, industrial diversification and integration, and modern construction and management mechanisms”. Moreover, through land-sea coordination and integration development thinking, the Yantai Area would take the lead in model exploration and mechanism innovation, give full play to its role as the experimental field, and strive to provide more replicable and transferable “Shandong plan” and “Yantai experience” for the whole country.
