At 10:00 am, Huang Tianhua made an opening address and extended warm welcome and sincere appreciation to participating guests.  He said, in the beginning of 2017, the 18 departments (e.g.Ministry of Transport) jointly issued the Notice on Further Encouraging the Development of Intermodal Transport, marking that China has regarded the development of intermodal transport as national strategy. With the implementation of Notice requirements, intermodal transport development will be greeted with a golden period. On one hand, the implementation of intermodal transport will push Chinese logistics industry to a new stage and social logistics resources will be fully used, which will considerably boost Chinese logistics efficiency. On the other hand, the development of intermodal transport, especially sea-land transport through sea-rail transport and road-rail transport, will further bolster China’s “The Belt and Road Initiative” and drive socioeconomic development of countries along the “The Belt and Road”.
