CIMC Vehicles’ 2016 Global Trailer Seminar Successfully Held

The 2016 CIMC Vehicles’ Global Trailer Seminar was held on July 14-15 in Shekou, Shenzhen. The two-day conference, the 10th one of its kind since 2004, was attended by over 350 representatives from CIMC Vehicles’ clients, suppliers and business partners in China, the U.S., the UK, Italy, Canada, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong and Taiwan and other countries and regions. At the conference, CIMC Vehicles and its business partners across the world reviewed how they stayed together and achieved win-win, and shared viewpoints on the transformation in the world’s trailer industry. 

Mr. Li Guiping, Director of the Board and Managing Director of CIMC Vehicles; Kenny Vieth, President of ACT Research; Ralf Steffes, Chief Officer of DHL’s Global Purchase Department; Dr. Zhao Sixin, an officer of Ouyeel Company, Baosteel Group; Mr. Miki Ya, a manager of Sumitomo Corporation; Mr. Zhang Yuansheng, CEO of huochebang.cn; Mr. Hou Wenhao, Senior Industry 4.0 Expert of McKinsey & Company; Mr. Charlie Mudd, CEO of CIMC Vanguard; Song Linhui, an officer from China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation, delivered speeches at the Seminar.

Mr. Li Guiping made the keynote speech - Business Transformation in the Currently Fragmented Global Trailer Market. “Five years ago, CIMC Vehicles established its business philosophy of ‘Global Operation, Local Wisdom’. Afterwards, we encountered numerous challenges and difficulties, but we got tremendous support from our clients, business partners, stakeholders and staff members. Today, we are studying the fragmentation of the global trailer market and seeking transformation opportunities in the trailer market that is currently undergoing fragmentation”, said Mr. Li, who stressed that CIMC Vehicles’ management team has been intensifying its efforts to promote the business transformation over the years.  

During the break of the Seminar, the participants also visited CIMC Vehicle’s plant in Dongguan, a plant of manufacturing advanced parts and components that is in the process of trial operation.

The biennial Seminar is to establish a platform for CIMC Vehicles and its business partners to have more positive and instructive communication of information. After the conclusion of the Seminar, the participants fully recognized its themes and topics and were satisfied with the achievements.
