Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II as the first official passenger of CIMC made Passenger Boarding Bridge in Winnipeg Int’l Airport

On July 6, 2010, Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip ends her 10 days royal visit to Canada, including one day visit to Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Queen and her royal entourage touched down in Winnipeg James A. Richardson Winnipeg International Airport shortly afternoon July 03 and walked through CIMC made Passenger Boarding Bridge (PBB) installed at contact gate #7, becoming the first official passengers of CIMC made PBB and the airport’s new terminal.

 

As one of the recent years’ main large scale infrastructures in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Manitoban Governor Philip Lee especially arranges the new terminal of Winnipeg Int’l airport as the first stop of the royal couple’s visit. There are totally eleven (11) contact gates in the new airport terminal, all of them are equipped with Passenger Boarding Bridges and Fixed Walkways manufactured by Shenzhen CIMC-TianDa Airport Support Ltd. (CIMC).

 

It was alleged that, this is the first time the royal couple walked through Passenger Boarding Bridge into airport terminal in their visiting history, showing the full confidence of the airport and government on the reliability of CIMC made Passenger Boarding Bridge product.
