On 23rd July, the award ceremony for the 2009 State Scientific and Technological Progress in the energy industry and the plaque presentation for the state energy R&D centers were held by China State Energy Administration in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. CIMC Vice President YU Ya attended the ceremony on behalf of CIMC.
This is the second group of state energy R&D centers awarded plaques by the State Energy Administration, covering the national key fields of nuclear power, natural gas, clean energy, biomass, offshore equipment, etc.
Mr. ZHANG Baoguo, the Vice Director in the State Development and Reform Commission and Head of the State Energy Administration, said that the construction of these state energy R&D centers is an important part in the establishment of the national technology development system and the improvement of the energy technological innovation system. Regarding the current situation in China, it is very meaningful in adjusting the energy structure, mitigating the climate change and ensuring the state energy security.
The state energy and offshore drilling rig R&D center chose to settle in CIMC, strengthening the competitive advantages of CIMC in the domestic offshore engineering industry and affirming its industrial leading position in the state-level offshore field. With strong competence of R&D in national offshore key equipment, the center will expand the space for CIMC to participate in the national energy projects.
